My uncle and I went biking together in D.C. today! We began at the Capital Crescent trail by the canal and went through the national mall and down to Regan Natl airport before we figure we should head back so we can get some dinner. All in all, it was a lovely and hot (though breezy) time! And of course, the whole time we had some fun trying to ride our bikes without handlebars etc.

Undoubtedly the most childish and girly thing I have made in ages, but appropriate as a “I’m leaving for college so here’s a lesson” gift for my little sister! Honestly, she is a little bratty and whiny at times but hopefully , she will take these words to heart and avoid throwing temper tantrums.

These past couple of weeks have been absolutely fantastic and incredibly draining at the same time. I have finally graduated high school, experienced young love, been socially engaged, tried to sleep more, and have crafted like mad! I can’t believe that I have made it through. I can’t believe I’ve actually been spending time with people and not been wallowing in my own room! But alas, today I have (post painting) and have been happily cranking out thank you and graduation cards.
Hopefully, I can resume regular updates here!, with more artsy phartsy things. And rambling, lots of ramblings and rants. Then hopefully, a slew of travel photos if I can actually plan and go on the trips I want to go on! Adflkejwrkjwae;rlkjw;e

The Cycle of Abuse Illustrated Through Single Photos and Multiple Models
Statistics show that 70% of people who are abused as children will grow up into adults who will in turn abuse children. A recent awareness ad campaign by Mexican organization Save the Children shared this fact in single photographs that are both creative and difficult to stomach.
The advertisements were originally published back in May 2012, and were created by Mexican agency Y&R and photographer Ale Burset. Each one uses five models showing one individual at different stages of life. In the foreground, the individual is experiencing abuse as a child. Older versions of the abused child grow up as they walk across the background of the frame, and turn into the original abuser by the time they walk a full circle.
“70% of abused children turn into abusive adults. Donate at savethechildren.mx,” the advertisements say.

My friend and I are currently writing a paper for our Organic Chemistry class about human decomposition, mummification, embalming practices and all the chemicals and process involved and there’s so much knowledge! There’s so many things to learn! Every time I read about one thing, I end up researching a hundred new terms and things! Damn…
But hey, did you know that there’s a house in British Columbia, Canada built from approximately 500,000 empty embalming fluid bottles? Oh, and putrescine and cadaverine are the two molecules that make the classic scent of decomposing bodies. They are also present in other bodily fluids, for example, both are present in semen and contribute to the scent of it.
